In this context, MAGICS NGO’s Community Health Wing is actively organizing medical camps aimed at strengthening primary health care at the grassroots level. These initiatives focus on providing accessible healthcare services, promoting healthy aging, and fostering an inclusive environment that supports the elderly.

  • Health Screenings: Basic health assessments, including blood pressure monitoring, diabetes testing, and vision screenings, are conducted to identify health issues early and facilitate appropriate referrals. Collaboration with Local Health Workers.

  • Consultations with Healthcare Professionals: Medical experts provide consultations to address various age-related health concerns, offering personalized advice and treatment plans.

  • Screening and Referral: Ensure there is a system for referral for those identified with conditions that require further treatment, such as surgery for cataracts or medical management for glaucoma.

  • Follow-up Care: Plan for follow-up assessments for individuals who have been treated or who require ongoing monitoring.

  • Support Services: If possible, offer additional services, like free glasses or information on low-cost treatments, to make the camps even more beneficial.

AYUSH MEDICAL CAMP - SAYAMPRABHA Home, AMARAVATHY ( Age friendly city Model Division)

By addressing the health care needs of older adults at the grassroots level, this geriatric medical camp can significantly contribute to improving healthy aging within the community. Engaging seniors, providing valuable resources, and fostering a sense of belonging will enhance their quality of life and promote a healthier lifestyle.

Geraitric Medical camps organized under the aegis of the state AYUSH department with an aim to ensure the physical and mental health of the elderly. The camps are being organised under the aegis of National AYUSH Mission, Department of Indian Medicine and Department of Homoeopathy. Kerala is the state with the highest life expectancy. The state attaches special importance to the health care of the elderly. As part of that, camps are being organized. The AYUSH Elderly Medical Camps are being organized with the aim of improving the physical health issues commonly experienced by the elderly such as muscle and bone weakness, lack of sleep, constipation, lifestyle diseases, and their mental and social health through AYUSH treatment facilities.
